Studies on Pharmacological Active Constituents of Duchesnea indicae Herba

Abstract
|
|
|
The whole plant of Duchesnea indica (Andr.) Focke (Rosaceae) (abbreviated in DI) has been used as a folk medicine in treating amenorrhea, inflammation, fever, and traumatic injuries, detoxifying and breaking up clots.
Thin layer chromatography of the ether fraction revealed 7 spots. The spot (Substance 1, Rf=0.64) was isolated by silica gel column chromatography and preparative TLC.
Chemical properities and spectra of Substance 1 examined by ultraviolet, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrophotometers suggested that it is a kind Methoxy dehydrocholesterol.
